It’s time for a financial comeback!
As we grow in the Lord, we learn how to be more responsible with the provision He has given us. So, if you’ve made financial mistakes, even to the point of financial ruin, don’t worry, God can turn it around for you and give you beauty for ashes!
We’ve all been fools
I know, you’ve heard the cries to ‘Eat the Rich’, or redistribute someone else’s wealth, I’ve heard them too. I also heard them somewhere else, in the parable of the Five Wise and Five Foolish Virgins.
In the Bible, Jesus tells us in Matt 25 about five virgins that brought extra supplies, and five who didn’t wanting them to share once their supplies were gone.
I’m sure they were angry, frustrated, and downcast when they couldn’t get into the feast. You might have felt those feelings before as well.
But here’s the thing.
There is room at the Cross for us all.
We are supposed to look to God for our provision, not the government, and certainly not other people.
Besides, a lot of rich people are cash poor. They live off inheritances made by people who worked hard, is it right to take someone’s hard earned cash from their children? Would you want someone to take money from your children? From you?
You have more than you think.
You have God.
God can make things good for you, will you trust Him?
Poverty = Holiness…?
Sometimes people can get it into their heads to think that they are automatically a better person than someone because they are poor… You think your poverty makes you Holy.
‘Jesus was poor’ you might be screaming. And, yeah, technically so is everyone on earth ever. Jesus being ‘poor’ is more so in the sense that He was poor because He owned all of Heaven and had to come down to live as a human… that is pretty poor in comparison.
His parents were poor before Mary gave birth to Him, but what about the gifts from the Wise Men or Three Kings… do you really think that God would send poor kings to His Son? Do you really think the gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh were a single coin, sachet, or bundle? Would kings have traveled all that way just to give a coin to the Master?
The Bible says in 1 Tim 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
And the crowd goes… broke
Well why am I starving? You may be asking.
Well, I’d have to ask you if you were living in your calling. Do you have a job, or are you doing your work in the Kingdom? Because if you work for God, He is responsible for you. But if you work for you…
2 Chron 25:9 says And Amaziah said to the man of God, But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel? And the man of God answered, The LORD is able to give thee much more than this.
We may have made mistakes in the past, but God can fix them! We don’t have to worry about recovering past monies because, God can fix that! Some of us are holding so tightly to the few dollars we have broken our backs to get that we forget who God is and refuse to give Him what’s His. We are so concerned about the small amount (less than 10% for most) that we don’t even see God has given us Jesus already… the Best of the best!
Rom 8:32 says: He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
A turn around
We need to Believe God, Speak it out, and Move in Faith, which may be sowing monetary seeds for most of us.
Start with Believing the Scriptures and let God do the rest:
Ps 34: 9-10 Fear the Lord, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need. Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.
Ps 37: 25 Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread.
Prov 10:4 Lazy people are soon poor; hard workers get rich.
Ps 35:27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: Yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
