Okay, here is a simple recipe for bacon stuffed mushrooms that you WILL make over and over again! Be warned, deliciousness incoming 😊
Stuffed mushrooms are one of the worlds greatest culinary feats in my opinion.
Honestly!
As a mushroom lover, I often stock my cart high with mushroom varieties. I sometimes even scour the internet for stores that will ship that delicious fungi to me.
I’ve tried several, such as trumpet and lions mane, wood ear, even delicate enoki, and I have to say, God knows exactly what He’s doing!
But…
None of those mushrooms will make you what I’m going to tell you how to make today. Nope, you will need some run of the mill mushrooms for this recipe. Something easy to find, or that you may even have chilling in your fridge already.
You can find this type of mushroom in the store probably anywhere across the US. For this recipe I’ll be using white mushrooms but you can also use brown mushrooms as long as they are whole and have their stems attached… you’ll be needing those stems!
Procedure:
So lets begin! Start off by washing your mushrooms, preheating your oven to 350F (175C), grabbing your favorite shredded cheese, some garlic and butter. Next pop out those stems and chop them up and set aside. Cook a few strips of bacon and set them aside to cool, breaking them up into bits when it is safe enough to do so.
After you’re done with that, heat up a skillet and add some butter, let it melt then add garlic and chopped stems, as well as your favorite seasonings (I think a dash of black paper, some onion powder and a smidge of paprika might be nice!) and let them cook down together.
Next its time to prepare the filling.
With the stems fully cooked, you will need to add in your bacon and shredded cheese into the skillet and melt it down slowly, before filling the caps with the mixture.
Transfer the caps to a parchment lined baking sheet and pop in the oven for 20 minutes.
Careful! They will be hot!
If you can resist them until they cool a bit you will earn yourself a mouthful of heaven! These little babies are some of my favorite fall eats and can be perfect for a cozy evening or a fancy party starter.
Whatever the case,
God Bless!
